Potent trimmer [Posted on 2008-08-17]
This is a very strong trimmer. By that I mean it is powerful for it's size. I also bought the edger attachment. It takes a little practice to get the hang of this trimmer but it gets the job done. I plan to buy the tiller attachment in the future. Strongly recommend this tool.

Bought one of string trimmer worked fine for one yard. Second time I used is wouldn't stay running unless it was all the way on choke position on the carborator and when given it gas would just die ! Was socond replacement string trimmer and it didn't make it threw one yard. Save your money [Posted on 2008-08-30]
Would not start. Called RYOBI customer service they said take to authorized dealer. I did and he (the repair mechanic) said that RYOBI - formerly Homelite (?) went bankrupt and he is not authorized to work on them. I asked if he know what was wrong and he took it to the back and came back ten minutes later and said there is absolutely no compression in the cylinder(s). He said by from a Lowes or Home Depot where you have the option to return. When I went to return it to Amazon there website said no returns because it is reconditioned.
Oh well, next time I just sling $90.00 out my car window. Results are the same.
I must have spent 45 minutes trying to crank this thing. For a busy guy that is the biggest disappointment

I had trouble keeping this trimmer running. The fuel was clean, new container, new oil mix, but the trimmer sputtered and took a long time before it got hot enough to run well. Even then, from time to time it would run down and stop for no reason. I had to work to get it re-started over and over again. It wore me out! I want a trimmer that will "run." When it's actually running, it does a good job, but the frustration of keeping it running consistently greatly reduces it's rating.

The product was everything that I had expected. The price was about half of what I would have paid in a retail store. And the delivery was fast.
