Save time watering your trees and bushes [Posted on 2007-07-03] I looked for these because my University uses them for new plantings. I was happy to see them on Amazon for a reasonable price.
I just got these a few days ago (including the Gator Jr which is a flat brown doughnut shape that fits under bushes but also doesn't look so obvious in my front yard under trees). It was easy to set up and fill with water. There are two small valves on the bottom that slowly allow water out - the water empties in 6 to 20 hours and the instructions say one refill a week for most new trees is normal. I might fill twice in August heat and am considering purchasing more given the drought-like weather in our area.
Just what i needed [Posted on 2007-11-08] This is exactly what I was looking for for my newly planted trees. They are very easy to install and fill. Thanks for a great product.
watering trees [Posted on 2008-07-18] watering occurs over 4-9 hours and can be done weekly. These are easy to zip around small trees and easy to fill.
Excellent Product! A Huge Timesaver! [Posted on 2008-11-19] I live in a historic neighborhood that was hit by a tornado and we lost over 20 mature trees. We replaced the majority of the trees and ordered a 20-gallon Tree Gator for each of them. The product works very well and all of the trees are doing excellent after a hot and dry summer. The Tree Gator is simple to use and is made out of durable material. The zipper is also durable, which was an initial concern of mine.
Overall, I would highly recommend the product. The neighborhood saved a huge amount of time by purchasing this product! We only filled up the Tree Gator 1 to 2 times per week (depending on the Indiana weather).
